About My Work

J. Donald Felix has been working with copper since the age of fifteen, starting as an apprentice. Twelve years later he decided to start his own business as an artist, creating copper weathervanes and sculptures. Don acquired the skills needed to hand form copper without the use of molds.

Don has earned a reputation for reproducing antique weathervanes. As a wildlife enthusiast he also creates nature's creatures in copper with his own unique style and is able to give "life" to his weathervanes. Don also follows nature in his copper wall sculptures, depicting natural scenes with a fine balance of trees and grasses. In addition, Don creates hand pounded copper sconces and traditional copper lighting.

Don Felix specializes in custom weathervanes, able to produce any style weathervane from a photograph. He has earned a reputation for quality and integrity. Many of his weathervanes grace the inside of homes as sculpture. Don admits - "customers may have to wait a few months for their order. I take the time to do the best job possible. I take alot of pride in my work."
